The Rams returned to the Naval Academy for the Kennedy Cup November 6-8. Going into the final day they were in a tight battle with Navy and Cal Maritime. Racing was very close in the 10 boat fleet with big changes with each wind shift. Cal Maritime and Navy found the better side on the second beats and finished 1,2 with the Rams 3rd. Matt Coughlin was the Ram skipper with captain Matt Wordell calling tactics. Bendan Read, Conor O’Neil, Johnny Gieseke, Sophie Podlich, Benton Croop and Jimmy Gieseke rounded out the crew. Thirds at both the McMillan and Kennedy establish URI as a major player in the big boat arena.
